INFORMATION FOR PARENTS INTERESTED IN ENROLLING THEIR CHILD AT A
SCHOOL THAT OFFERS THE ARROWSMITH PROGRAM

Relationship of the school with Arrowsmith Program {back to Top}

All of the schools that offer the Arrowsmith Program do so pursuant to the terms of a substantially similar form of license agreement. These schools are publicly or independently owned and managed and Arrowsmith Program otherwise has no involvement in their operations.

One of our goals is to ensure that each school that offers the Arrowsmith Program adheres to the same standards of program delivery.

What Arrowsmith Program provides {back to Top}

The following in overview is a summary of what Arrowsmith Program provides to each school offering the program:

Methodology and program materials {back to Top}

  • a license to use the Arrowsmith Program methodology and intellectual property during the term of the agreement
  • master copies of all program exercise materials including auditory CDs and computer programs
  • Arrowsmith instructional materials including the Arrowsmith Program reference manual
  • ongoing support and professional development for teachers

Arrowsmith Program teacher training {back to Top}

  • review of candidate resumes and credentials where appropriate
  • instruction during the Arrowsmith three week training course held at Arrowsmith School in August
  • assessment of teacher candidate performance during the course and reporting on the completion of the course
  • ongoing professional development training to keep teachers apprised of updates and modifications to the program methodology

  • assessment of each student
  • creation of learning profile for each student

Programming {back to Top}

  • individualized program of exercises for each student based on an analysis of each student’s learning profile
  • annual review and modification of each student’s program

Liaison with teachers, supervision of program delivery and monitoring of student progress {back to Top}

  • an Arrowsmith Program co-ordinator is assigned to each school who acts as the liaison with Arrowsmith Program and is available to respond to teachers’ questions and comments about the delivery of the Arrowsmith Program at the school
  • provision of an Arrowsmith Program designed and maintained on-line Record of Program (‘ROP’) where classroom teachers record the progress of each student on his or her program of exercises on a monthly basis together with comments that are reviewed and responded to by the Program Co-ordinator
  • ongoing professional development training for teachers

What the school provides {back to Top}

The schools offering the Arrowsmith Program provide:

  • school facilities, administration and management
  • teachers in the Arrowsmith Program at the school
  • equipment necessary to deliver the Arrowsmith Program
  • exercise materials for each student created from master copies provided by Arrowsmith Program

Admission and enrolment {back to Top}

The criteria for admission to the Arrowsmith Program at a particular school, and the consideration of the factors that would make a student a candidate for the Arrowsmith Program are the same as the criteria for admission to Arrowsmith School.

Our Program Co-ordinator is available to review student records and assessment reports and consult with and advise the school on the appropriateness of a student for the Arrowsmith Program.

Some schools or school boards may have additional or other entrance criteria specific to that school or board.

Students enroll at the school that offers the Arrowsmith Program and pay their fees to that school. Students enrolled in the Arrowsmith Program at a particular school are considered for all purposes to be students of that school and are subject to all of the policies of that school.
